Biography

Latoya was born and raised in The Netherlands. She started as a dancer when she was only 4 years old. At the age of nine, Latoya started her professional training at The National Ballet Academy, in Amsterdam. Over the next seven years she danced with the National Ballet of Holland, in “Romeo and Juliet”, “a Midsummer night dream”, “The Swanlake” and the part of 'Clara' in “The Nutcracker”. Latoya also played the role of little 'Yoyo' in the Dutch movie “Naar de Klote”, from Ian Kerkhof.

She continued her education in Jazz and Musical theatre at the High school of Arts in Amsterdam, where she graduated in 2005 with a BA (Hons) in Musical theatre. After her training Latoya was a cross-over Swing in the original cast of the musical “The Lion King” in the Fortis Circus Theater in Scheveningen, Holland. She covered the Lead 'Scaramouch' in the Rock musical, “We Will Rock You” in the Musical Dome in Cologne, Germany and was in the Ensemble of the West-End production of the musical “Wicked” in the Apollo Victoria, London.

Most recently Latoya received a Scholarship from the Dutch 'Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds' to study acting at 'TVI Actors Studio' in Los Angeles, California, where she had classes and workshops from actors, casting directors and producers working in Hollywood. She played the part of Jaime Callaghan in the Short film “The Grater Couple” from Robert Sanchez and worked on the music video 'Thinking of you' from “Katy Perry”.
